Dentures

The loss of teeth can be a source of discomfort and self-consciousness, but with today’s denture options, a complete and confident smile is within easy reach. At NG Dental, we offer both chrome and acrylic dentures as affordable and removable solutions for replacing missing teeth.

What are dentures, and who needs them?

Dentures are custom-made replacements for missing teeth that can be removed and placed back in your mouth. While dentures take some getting used to, today’s dentures are natural-looking and more comfortable than ever.

They’re suitable for people who have lost several or all of their teeth due to decay, gum disease, or injury. They restore the look of your smile, support the facial structure, and improve your ability to eat and speak.

What types of dentures are available?

There are primarily two types of dentures: Chrome (metal) and acrylic (plastic).

Chrome dentures are known for their strength and durability. They are often thinner and more streamlined than their acrylic counterparts, providing a comfortable fit with less irritation to the gum tissue.

On the other hand, acrylic dentures are lightweight and can be easier to adjust to. They are an excellent choice for larger spaces of missing teeth and are typically more affordable than chrome dentures.

The choice between chrome and acrylic dentures depends on several factors, including the number of missing teeth, the location of the gaps, your budget, and personal preference.

What is the process for getting dentures?

To get dentures, we start with a consultation to discuss your needs and preferences. Next, precise impressions and measurements of your mouth are taken to create custom dentures.

Once the dentures are crafted, they are adjusted to ensure a proper fit. It may take a few visits to get the fit right and make necessary adjustments for comfort and functionality.

How do you care for dentures?

Taking care of your dentures is vital for their longevity and your oral health. They should be brushed daily to remove food particles and plaque and to prevent staining.

When not in use, dentures should be kept in water or a denture-cleaning solution to prevent warping. It’s also important to continue practising good oral hygiene, including brushing your gums, tongue, and roof of your mouth every morning before inserting your dentures.
